Wondering what to do with your showing bra straps during the fall with your off the shoulder sweater designs? Couture Jeweled Bra Straps are designed to hook into your convertible bra and bejewel your shoulders for an entirely new fashion statement.
Couture Straps are available in 3 sizes and finding a size appropriate for you is easy. Just follow these simple steps.
1 Put on your convertible or strapless bra that has loops for removable bra straps.
2 Use a measuring tape to find the distance between the hook loops in front and the back of your bra.
3 Subtract ½ inch and choose the size closest to this measurement.
When in doubt round down to the next size.
Customization services are also available for Couture straps as well. For more information please visit Uzuri Designs
I have been away from this blog for awhile but I am not going to make excuses. There have been many improvements I am making to the company. I have been preparing media materials, refining new designs, learning new techniques and learning how I can better serve my customers.
One way to find out how to better serve my customers is to simply ask them. So I asked through this survey. And they are voicing there opinions. I love it. I have finally come up with a newsletter format that I can live with at the time being as well.
I have been bettering my self through health and wellness both physically and spiritually. I found that I needed to stop to gain insight to the direction I was going in my life. Unfortunately yet fortunately I had to say goodbye to circumstances that were impeding my progress. It was a ceremonious yet silent goodbye whispered with love and a prayer.
Things are great and I am going to do a better job of keeping ya’ll updated.
Yes, this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I like many others wanted to help. Of course the notion crossed my mind to get some pink beads and make something and donate the proceeds from any sales to one of the awesome Breast Cancer related foundations, but I was not truly moved by that thought. I was moved however by the story of a woman who, out of the kindness of her heart used her skills in craft and art to make a difference in the lives of those who have been struck by this horrific disease. You can read more about the Bracelet Lady here .
So instead of making bracelets to sell, I am going to join with my group of fellow jewelry designers and make bracelets to give away in honor of the Bracelet Lady.
Here is my humble contribution:

I am always asked,” How did you get started?”
I have been crafting honestly since I was a very young girl. I remember my mom teaching me macrame. We used to make plant hangers and key chains, and I would sell my crafts to get money to buy Christmas gifts. One year I made $18! That was a lot for a 10 year old back in those days.
Then I remember being dragged to the yarn store with my mother who would keep us there for hours and hours while she mulled over her choices. We could not go to a store that didn’t sell yarn and we would always end up in that section. Of course I was a teen by then and thought I had better things to do.
Since I have picked arts and crafts up again, I have done gift baskets, scrap-booking(still trying my hand at this one), stamping and card-making, graphic arts, (I actually took courses in this one), soap-making, and sewing, all in an attempt to find my thing. Jewelry making came by accident as I was helping a friend of mine who is an independent fashion designer. She asked me if I wanted to help her make some jewelry. I said yes and I was hooked from that moment on.
So I said all that to say this, I have dabbled and will continue to dabble in many art forms and I have my mom to thank for raising me well rounded and open minded(even if she did not do this on purpose!)
Here are some things that she made and sent to me. It felt like Christmas!
This is a felted tote with fun fur and a beanie cap, I love these hats they look so cool with my growing out locs.
This Pink set is for my daughter, she absolutely loved it!

Here are some more crocheted beanies.
I would also like to thank my other family members who I am grateful for there influence as well. My grandmother is a beautiful quilter. She makes some stunning quilts. My aunt(who happens to be my grandmother’s sister), introduced me to stamping and a lot of other stuff. My cousin(who is my grandmother’s sister’s daughter), her creativity astounds me all the time. She is a jewelry designer also, you can take a look at her here.
So when I am asked again, how did I get started, I will quote Will.I. Am’ song and say “I got it from my momma, I got it from my momma, I got it from my momma”….
Well I have been very busy the past week or so just getting things together for the fashion show coming at the end of September. I knew I needed a slide show presentation but I just kinda forgot about it of course because I have been “updating”. I got the call last week that I need to have my slide presentation pretty quick so I had to get going. Fortunately I have access to some very beautiful people that were willing to let me take pictures of them. Keep in mind that I am no where near a professional. But here is the beautiful result! I am so Thankfulto the Most High that he allowed me to get what I consider to be these perfect shots.

Then it occured to me that a poster board would be awesome to keep at my table for vendor fairs, trunk shows and such and then with a little bit that I learned from my scrapbooking friends, I came up with this:![]()

As it turned out, it drew quite a bit of attention at the Ebony Fashion Fair so it is a definate keeper.
I have gone absolutely crazy about turqoise! Of course after I made the custom project for a coworker of mine, I had all these beads left over and I was just craving something to do. Here is the result.
Ps. I am taking more pics and they should be on the Etsy Shop soon.

This is pink turquoise which I thought was really fun to work with.
